Job Summary:
The Marketing & PR Manager for the Birmingham World Police & Fire Games serves as the support to the Director of Marketing & PR, and supervises both the Coordinator and Intern. This role is focused on local/regional media relations, communication, and research/analytics for the World Police & Fire Games 2025.
Start Date/End Date: January 2025 - July 2025
Key Responsibilities:
1. Public Relations:
- Create press materials (press releases, advisories, alerts, etc.)
- Engage with local/regional media for press events, daily engagement, interviews, etc.
- Collaborate with digital and creative teams on PR aspects of campaigns.
- Supervise intern and collaborate with staff to build media lists for regional/local media.
2. Marketing:
- Create market research reports centered on athletes/participants, community stakeholders, social media influencers, and more.
- Supervise intern and collaborate with staff to lists of influencers for social media.
- Collaborate with digital and creative teams on marketing aspects of campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Expertise in Public Relations writing (press releases, etc.) with a portfolio of previous work.
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in Public Relations, Communications, MarComm, Marketing, etc.
- Experience working in Google Analytics and Google Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating with VIPs, government officials and/or athletes.
- Demonstrable skills in time management, attention to detail, problem solving, and adaptability.
- Previous experience as a manager/coordinator of staff and working with digital teams and graphic designers preferred.
- Previous experience working in sports events or events is preferred.
