Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring types in commercial environments. Floor work is in the evening after 6pm. I have locations all across chicago area This role requires a strong understanding of floor care techniques, including buffing, carpet cleaning, and general custodial duties. The Floor Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all building occupants.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed.
- Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
- Execute commercial cleaning tasks in various settings, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain equipment used for floor care, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Follow established procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste disposal.
- Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in floor care or custodial services is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, including buffing and carpet cleaning.
- Familiarity with environmental services practices and commercial cleaning standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with floor maintenance.
