What will you be doing?

World Wide Technology, LLC has an opportunity available for a Cloud Engineer to support our Government Services team. This position will focus on AWS Architecture and support within a customer’s environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Information and Architecture solutions to ensure efficient manipulation, organization and sharing of information, data and/or master data in data-lake, lake-house and data-mart constructs.
• Collaborate with Cloud Enterprise Architect to define the appropriate Cloud Database solutions; such as AWS Redshift, Database Migration Services, Glue, EMR, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), S3, Relational Database Service (RDS)/Aurora, and Amazon Kinesis.
• Define access patterns, storage methods and integration patterns for the movement and maintenance of data into unstructured, relational and NoSQL databases
• Develop and design the models for complex analytical and data warehouse/mart systems including performing tasks related to database design, data analysis, data quality, metadata management and support.
• Work with diverse data in a wide variety of formats, and employed by a wide variety of highly siloed systems.
• Apply best practices to design and building of complex ETL processes
• Support partners in the migration of their data to the Cloud

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent work experience
• AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification within past three years
• 5 years’ of Solutions architecture experience in an enterprise environment with emphasis on data systems
• 3 years’ experience designing, executing and supporting AWS data lakes at scale
• 5 years’ of experience designing, optimizing, and maintaining relational and non-relational databases including MySQL, MS SQL, Redshift, AWS RDS and other NoSQL databases
• 5 years’ of experience with the design and building of ETL packages, data pipelines and connecting these to BI applications
• Knowledge of data movement and data presentation tools such as; Informatica, MS SSIS, AWS Glue, Cognos, Tableau
• Ability to pass a background check and pass the criteria for a CJIS environment
• Willingness to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines as needed to deliver results
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Mentors and coaches colleagues and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
