Accounting Specialist Job Responsibilities:

• Review all invoices for accuracy, and that they have appropriate documentation prior to payment.

• Match vendor invoices to receiving vouchers from retail stores.

• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.

• Process 3-way P.O. matching invoices, up to and exceeding 100 line items

• Perform daily data entry of invoices on an Excel spreadsheet and convert into MAS 200 accounting software.

• Communicate with vendors to obtain credits for returned or short shipped products.

• Audit and process credit card bills.

• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies relating to cost and quantity.

• Communicate and follow up effectively with vendors, store managers and other team members.

• Respond to all inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

• Assist with month-end closing.

• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

• Assist with other special projects as assigned by Controller.

Qualifications Desired for Accounting Specialist:

• 1 years of accounting/accounts payable experience is preferred (we are also open to recent graduates with their accounting degree)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred, but not required

• Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is required

• SAP, Sage, or MAS 200 software experience is a plus but not required

• Working in office daily at our Santa Ana headquarters is required

*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to 20 lbs. The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.00-$24.00 per hour. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
