Insert Machine "C" Class Operator

Job Overview

Work in the specialty department. He or she is responsible for operating multiple types of machines to make sure it is efficiently producing quality products, keeping a clean and safe work environment as well as performing adjustments and quality checks as listed below. The candidate should be able to stand for long periods of time, some bending and lifting, as well as work in a hot work environment (especially during the summer months). The candidate will report directly to the production supervisor.

Responsibilities

Fire Polisher

• Load Fire Polisher machine magazine with glass tubes, listed on WT and BOM.
• Fire enough product to keep the insert machines running.
• Fill-out downtime report and log machine and quality issues.
• Ensure the machine is producing quality products by verifying dimensions with calipers and documenting.

Insert Machines

• Load the Insert machine magazines with glass tubes.
• Ensure the machine is producing quality products by verifying dimensions with calipers and documenting.
• Inspect the parts for cosmetic flaws.
• Assemble graphite/metal mandrels to be used in production.
• Replace defective or broken mandrels as needed.
• Lubricate / clean the machine as needed to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Clean burners as needed.
• Maintain production records.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to use small hand tools such as hand wrenches and Allen keys.

Physical Demands

• Requires long periods of standing, some bending and lifting.
• Able to work in hot conditions during summer season.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
