The Capitol Arcade Lounge is hiring for Bartenders/Redemption Counter for weekend AM shifts, bonus for a few weekday AM shifts as well! This Capitol District lounge is located off Dodge St. and just 0.4 miles to the Old Market, located at 1002 Dodge Street Omaha, NE 68102, right across from our other concept, The Fat Putter.
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced bartenders to provide an excellent guest drinking experience and help with easy arcade redemption. The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers while running the bar and upholding service and quality standards. Bartenders will also upsell items, create classic and innovative drinks all while providing a unique and pleasant experience.
Our opening schedules are 9 AM and 5 PM and evening shift between 5 PM and 10 PM to 12 AM as needed on weekends.
Responsibilities
- Prepare alcohol and non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Help customers with arcade sales and redemption of ticket points at prize counter
- Informing customers about new beverages, specials, and upselling.
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- Perform cash transactions adhering to proper cash handling procedures
- Work in a team environment and communicate with other employees and guests
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Monitoring customers for signs of intoxication and refusing service as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring that the bar and arcade are well-stocked with all necessary ingredients and items
- Following all relevant laws and regulations related to serving alcohol, including those related to hours of operation, serving limits, and safety precautions
- Performing opening and closing tasks or responsibilities
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bartending experience (1 year required)
- Big plus if you have opened a new concept from the ground up
- Resume and proven working experience as a bartender
- Eye for detail and knowledge in mixing, garnishing and serving techniques
- Strong task and time management abilities
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Observant with strong people skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Compensation:
- Tips estimated $10-$30 per hour
- Service charges for group events
- Holiday overtime pay
