Summary
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of People Operations will lead the development and execution of people strategies that drive employee engagement, operational excellence, and organizational growth. This role is responsible for creating and managing processes and programs that support the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to development and retention, while fostering an inclusive and people-centric workplace culture. The Director of People Operations will leverage data and technology to ensure the company attracts, retains, and develops top talent aligned with its mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior leadership to align people operations strategies with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance organizational culture, employee engagement, and overall workplace experience.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on workforce planning and development, organizational design, and talent management.
  • Develop and implement programs that support employee satisfaction, retention, and development.
  • Assist with overseeing Caring initiatives, ensuring they are embedded across all aspects of the organization.
  • Build and maintain a strong employer brand that attracts and retains top talent.
  • Oversee talent acquisition efforts, ensuring an effective hiring process aligning with Company values.
  • Design and implement leadership development and succession planning programs.
  • Lead performance management processes to drive accountability, development, and results.
  • Streamline and oversee people operations processes, including onboarding, benefits, and compliance.
  • Leverage HR technology and tools to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations across operating geographies.
  • Develop and analyze HR metrics and employee data to inform strategic initiatives and measure program effectiveness.
  • Use insights to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions to workforce challenges.
  • Lead and mentor the People Operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Act as a champion for organizational values and a role model for leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 8 years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling people programs in a growth-oriented organization.
  • Experience working within multi-generational family owned/operated companies strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of modern HR practices, including talent management, employee engagement, and data analytics, human flourishing and compliance.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analytics tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and lead through ambiguity.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to fostering a caring and accountable workplace.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Track record of driving measurable improvements in employee experience and operational efficiency.
