You will work closely with individuals to promote their independence while ensuring their rights and dignity are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages social interaction and personal growth.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's unique needs.
- Promote resident rights and advocate for their preferences and choices.
- Engage residents in recreational activities and community outings to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in residents' conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Ensure a safe and clean living environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with autism or in caregiving roles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with assisted living, nursing home settings, or group home environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to promoting the well-being of others.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for residents are beneficial.
