About The Role
Overview:As a Maintenance Supervisor at Wren Kitchens, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of our facilities. You will collaborate closely with departmental managers and suppliers to uphold high standards of maintenance and safety while managing personnel and resources effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with the VP of Operations to plan workload and allocate jobs, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.
- Serve as a point of contact for all facilities and maintenance-related matters.
- Coordinate with departmental managers to execute repairs and planned maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
- Liaise with suppliers to procure necessary materials for repairs and regeneration projects.
- Ensure all repairs and building projects comply with relevant regulations and are completed to high standards.
- Manage departmental budget, monitoring costs weekly and periodically to maintain compliance with set budgets.
- Effectively communicate achievements and areas for improvement, implementing changes as necessary.
- Supervise and train team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills required for their tasks.
- Maintain discipline and manage personnel matters on the shop floor.
- Manage employee holidays and absences, arranging appropriate cover as needed and minimizing overtime.
- Motivate team members to enhance performance and output both individually and as a team.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, reporting any concerns to senior management.
- Plan and oversee long-term projects or work during shutdown periods.
- Analyze and respond effectively to maintenance and production-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health, and safety regulations at all times.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce wastage and costs within the company.
- Update and manage safe working procedures and risk assessments in line with site policies.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and materials associated with the role.
- Pursue personal development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Establish effective planned maintenance programs for plant, equipment, machinery, and buildings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and building effective teams.
- Strong initiative and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and building services.
- Ability to conduct dynamic Risk Assessments and implement appropriate measures.
- Experience in planning PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and managing reactive maintenance.
- Ability to schedule inspections and testing procedures effectively.
- Strong time management and teamwork skills.
- Engineering experience within the manufacturing sector.
- HNC or HND in a relevant engineering discipline and current engineering certificates.
- Completion of a time-served apprenticeship in Engineering.
