About The Role
Wren Kitchens is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Assistant to join our team in Sugar Notch, PA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety of our employees and promoting compliance with health and safety regulations.
Pay: Based on Experience
Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Main Responsibilities
- Training and Orientation: Conduct face-to-face instruction by delivering onboarding and orientation for new hires, covering company policies, procedures, and job skills. Administer learning schedules and maintain participant training records.
- Policy Development and Review: Assist the H&S Manager in the development and review of safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Injury and Illness Monitoring: Assist the H&S Manager in monitoring work-related injuries and illnesses, including investigations and root cause analysis.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct site walks and observe safety practices, ensuring adherence to relevant procedures. Document hazards, incidents, or employee issues.
- Committee Participation: Be part of the Health & Safety Committee, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to management.
- Administrative Support: Assist in administrative duties as required, including initial inspection setup, EAP & FPP implementation, first aider/fire marshal training setup, and AED arrangements.
About You
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with both management and employees, with strong organization, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Safety Awareness: Some understanding of OSHA and safety regulations preferred, with the ability to maintain priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and similar computer programs, with confidence in front of people
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible days/hours as needed, and multilingual proficiency in English and Spanish would be beneficial.
