This Case Aide position is in the Child Protection Unit of Social Services. Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work assisting in the administration of County, State, and Federal social services, financial services, and public health programs. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Unit Supervisor.This position may be assigned to specialized functions within Health and Human Services Department. Hiring pay range is $23.83/hr. - $26.69/hr. depending on qualifications and direct work experience. Please note this position is in-office work setting.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Interviews and determines client eligibility for services, performs case management activities, responds to questions regarding programs; schedules appointments and screenings; contacts clients on behalf of the case manager.Authorizes or provides services to clients, including performing assessments, facilitates supervised visits; makes referrals and coordinates services with agencies, programs and community resources, including school staff; refers cases to other Counties when clients relocate.Processes applications and enters information, reviews and updates State database(s) regarding client eligibility, programs and services received; checks interfaces with other County, State, and Federal agencies and Departments.Creates and maintains emergency staff and volunteer call lists for Emergency Preparedness Operations; assists with coordination of large-scale emergency preparedness events for the general public.Documents, charts and compiles data; prepares reports and paperwork; contributes to grant requests.Oversees and orders program and medical supplies.Performs other duties and activities as assigned.

Knowledge of, or ability to learn, interpret and apply laws and regulations related to State and Federal Human Services programs; knowledge of, or ability to learn, computer systems and programs used to administer Division Human Service programs; knowledge of, or ability to learn, County government work flows and processes; skill in the use of standard office equipment, including computers and software programs; verbal and written communication skills sufficient to effectively present information and respond to questions from a wide variety of audiences; reading comprehension skills sufficient to read, understand and interpret technical and legal documents; interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange and or convey information, receive work direction, and maintain effective working relationships; ability to perform data entry into various databases; ability to effectively organize time and anticipate, plan and successfully respond to changing circumstances; ability to perform all job duties in compliance with safety guidelines and with an ongoing awareness of safety practices; ability to communicate courteously and professionally while maintaining positive working relationships with others when carrying out all job functions.
