Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Control System Technician to join our team. The Control Systems Technician will work with our Engineering Design Team to implement and commission PLC/SCADA based control systems for water and wastewater projects.
This position can work in any of these offices: Topsham or Portland, ME or Bedford, or Portsmouth, NH offices.

Responsibilities
- Work with the engineering design team to implement and commission PLC/SCADA based control systems for water and wastewater related projects
- Application development for a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software and graphical interface terminals such as those manufactured by Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE, Trihedral, Wonderware and Maple Systems
- Meet with internal teams and clients to understand the project objective and how it relates to the control system
- Provide onsite commissioning and startup support for new and existing control systems
- Control panel design and testing; provide onsite control panel modifications
- Field instrumentation installation, maintenance, troubleshooting
- Document and maintain control system information, programing files and activities logs
- Assisting in creation of CAD schematics and user operation manuals (O&M)
- Travel to job sites in New England states as needed
- Read and understand process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control loop drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams
- Diagnosing and modifying existing programs to meet customer needs
- Familiarity with field instrumentation devices, control components (relays, timers, power supplies) and industrial drive systems (VFDs, soft starters, motor contactors)
- Able to build collaborative relationships with clients and coworkers
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and time management skills
- 3-5 years of work experience in control system programming required
- Prior experience in Water/Wastewater related infrastructure considered a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) & AutoCAD required
- Knowledge of industrial networking: Ethernet IP, Modbus, industrial wireless, HART desired
- Proficiency with PC-based programming languages: Rockell Logix 500 and Logix5000, Schneider Modicon, Operator interfaces (OIT), HMI Software, Windows Server platforms, HTML, My SQL, Access desired
- Associate degree in electrical, computers, robotics or similar field
