As the Market Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for the business-aligned delivery and long term strategy of the Market Data Enterprise Platform. Additionally, as a Systematic Project Manager, you will be responsible for the project management of technology-aligned projects for Systematic Portfolio Managers.
Responsibilities include :
Partnering with the Systematic Platform technology teams to provide project management across all areas and specifically product management across the Market Data Enterprise organization
Engage with Business Management and development leads to facilitate prioritization of PM's market data technology requests
Collaborate closely with the Market Data Project Architect and Development teams
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to understand, document, and implement business requirements and workflows
- Providing clear and unambiguous communication between Technology, Business Management, and Portfolio Management - including proactive escalation and consulting on best practices
- Project management of bespoke strategic platform build-outs that may benefit multiple PM's
- Working closely with Portfolio Managers (PM) and teams across the firm to facilitate the efficient onboarding and ongoing expansion of trading groups
- Tracking of PM technology requests, including active maintenance of a project plan per PM with clear timelines to achieve a timely launch / expansion
- Acting as the single point of contact into the Technology organization for multiple systematic Portfolio Managers across Infrastructure, Quantitative Development, Data, and Execution
Skills include :
Requires 5 years of related professional project and / or product management experience
Requires 5 years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably within market data or electronic trading and with exposure to Equities, Futures, Options, or FX
Strong understanding of real-time (and ideally low-latency) system design and implementation
Strong understanding and working knowledge of key data principals
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills including the ability to present a polished, professional, and well-considered view to all stakeholders
Ability to understand the business workflow (across products / regions) and technology components (including datasets, infrastructure, quantitative tools and execution platforms) at a deep enough level to identify and solve problems
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within a tight time frame
Self-starter, energetic, and with an independent work ethic
Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high pressure dynamic environment with a good sense of urgency and ownership
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Experience with development methodologies including waterfall and agile as well as expertise with tools including JIRA, Confluence, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project
