WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in New York City, New York. This will be an in the office 5 days a week role.

Your Impact

  • Serve in a Program/Project Manager role on highly visible major transportation projects delivered via various delivery methods
  • Manage complex multi-discipline projects including deign and construction support services
  • Develop Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance
  • Responsible for independent review of project progress
  • Perform schedule review and analysis
  • Provide solutions to project issues
  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget with the highest standards and quality
  • Develop and maintain relationships with executive/senior level public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.
  • Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major projects within the transportation market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability.
  • Oversee the discipline’s vision and mission to promote an appropriate value proposition that accounts for corporate and WSP client business strategy, governmental regulations and policies, and QA/QC in delivery.
  • Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks.
  • Serve as project management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.
  • Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.
  • Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing high program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.
  • Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • Extensive Design project delivery experience as a Project/Program Manager
  • 25 years of relevant experience, approximately five (10) years' experience in managing complex transportation projects in the NYC market.
  • Experience in various delivery methods, such as Design Bid Build, Design Build, Progressive Design Build, CMGC and CMAR.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple jurisdictions on projects of similar size and complexity.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of public rail transportation infrastructure projects, with construction costs in excess of $5 billion, preferably in on multi-discipline transportation project
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Architecture License
  • PMP or CMC Certification


Expected Salary: $270,000 - $385,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
