Position Summary Information
General Summary
The Service Connection Contract Coordinator reviews and prepares new house connection packages for bid and reviews packages for service connection permits, obtains permits, and oversees the service connection process. Is highly skilled in maintenance management (MMIS) and asset management software (PPIS), GIS applications, eBuilder and the ability to accomplish work with a minimum of supervision.
Essential Functions
- Keeps current all additions or modifications to the bid package in the WSSC Water PPIS and / or the MMIS programs
- Accesses multiple computer programs i.e., MMIS, CIMMS, PPIS, CSIS, WEBMAP, EXCEL
- Assists customers with service connection location and availability
- Assists various departments within WSSC Water on constructability reviews
- Interfaces with a variety of departments and personnel within WSSC Water, as well as, state and local government agencies and municipalities
- Maintains records of incoming water / sewer applications from PPIS on EXCEL spreadsheet
- Prepares, reviews, and retrieves plumbing cards
- Reviews and identifies sites for constructability and contractual commitments
- Locates existing water and sewer services to abandon water valves, sewer manholes, and water meters, curb boxes, etc
- Assists plumbers in locating water and sewer house connections
- Initiates work order if valve or manhole cannot be located
- Assigns water and sewer jobs to appropriate contracts
- Applies for state, county and U.S. Army Corp road construction permits
- Provides assistance to permit processors with applicants at counter pertaining to construction details, standards, construction time frames, etc
- Provides and supervises provision of new water and sewer services, keeping appropriate records and issuing necessary orders
- Prepares monthly report
- Prepares substantial paperwork for service connection Permits to release meters
- Follows up with all submittal paperwork on vault jobs
- Assigns service connection permits to appropriate depot
- Acts in the position of manager, pipeline Construction
- Drives a vehicle to conduct WSSC Water business
