Position: Robotics/Technology Teacher (Computer Science)
Location: Woodstock Union High/Middle School
Term: One-Year Position
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Robotics/Technology Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year. This position involves teaching robotics and technology courses to both middle and high school students, fostering technological literacy, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
About the Role
- Develop and implement engaging robotics and technology curriculum for grades 7-12
- Teach programming, engineering principles, and design thinking
- Oversee robotics club activities and competitions
- Maintain technology equipment and robotics supplies
- Collaborate with science and math departments
- Provide opportunities for project-based learning
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Potentially supervise after-school robotics team activities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Education, or related field
- Teaching certification in technology education or related area
- Experience with robotics platforms (LEGO, VEX, Arduino, etc.)
- Knowledge of programming languages appropriate for middle/high school students
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for technology education and student-centered learning
- Experience coaching robotics teams preferred
