Middle School & High School Art Teacher (Long-Term Substitute)

Position Overview:
Woodstock Union High School and Middle School is seeking a dynamic and certified Art Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality instruction to middle and high school students during a maternity leave. This is a full-time, temporary position requiring expertise in art education, curriculum delivery, and assessment. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, professionalism, and a passion for fostering artistic growth in students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach middle school and high school art classes in alignment with established curriculum and standards.
• Follow, develop and implement lesson plans that encourage artistic expression, critical thinking, and skill development.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and creativity.
• Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including projects, presentations, and written reflections.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators as needed.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Art Education or related field (Vermont endorsement preferred).
• Experience teaching art at the middle and/or high school levels.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to promoting equity and inclusion in the classroom.

Position Details:

• Duration: Temporary, covering maternity leave (specific dates to be determined).
• Location: Woodstock Union High School and Middle School, Woodstock, Vermont.
