Wunderlich-Malec Services is hiring an Electrical Panel Technician. This position is a key role in the Winslow, ME business unit and is a key resource in manufacturing the equipment as supplied with engineered systems. This position is responsible for protection & control equipment assembly and wiring involving PLC panels, motor control equipment, protection, control, and instrumentation cabinets, panels, and plates.
Major Responsibilities
- Assembling, installing and mounting electrical components and wire harnesses in a neat and professional manner
- Assemble electrical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings
- Proper layout of both front and back panel mounted components
- Ability to visually locate components and determine proper clearances, etc.
- Properly label and document component identification and location
- Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized production area on a daily basis
- Reviews BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly
- Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner
- Works with Manufacturing Manager and Electrical Supervisor to fully understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines
- Applying knowledge of electrical principles to read and problem-solve wiring schematics
Minimum Requirements
- Education – High School Diploma (Associate in Electrical Field and/or related Military experience preferred).
- Experience – 2 years of directly related electrical panel assembly and/or electrical wiring experience in the areas described above as well as areas indicated below:
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
- Good employee interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of engineers and engineering support
- Familiar with the use of a personal computer (PC) for entering timesheets, expense reports, printing wire labels, etc.
- Working knowledge of all necessary safety requirements while working in assembly area
- Working knowledge of computer and networking equipment for proper installation and startup. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and complete multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment
Physical Demands of Position Good visual perception to see small electrical wires and components within the panel boards. Must have full dexterity in hands and fingers to utilize a variety of tools and equipment for electrical assembly. Must have the ability to stand and/or kneel for long periods of time. Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines. Also, the ability to mount and dismount equipment, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Working Conditions Equipment assembly environment; cement floor with floor padding provided as needed.
