What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Wurster Betterground Holding, L.L.C.?
As a Project Estimator, you will work in close coordination with Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers, and Operations staff to bid geotechnical projects throughout the Southeast.
While extensive and continuous training in geotechnical contracting/engineering will be provided by senior staff, the goal of this position is for you to work autonomously on the bidding of projects and your other job functions.
- Estimating quantities, performing settlement/stability calculations, and writing proposals for ground improvement opportunities.
- Assisting with project preconstruction activities including coordination of designs and contract management.
- Visiting job sites to observe methods and testing, provide guidance to Superintendents & crews, coordinate with other trades/contractors, and ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Attending trade shows and professional development sessions.
- Visiting consultants, general contractors, engineering firms, and other trade partners to build WBG?s market share.
- Coordinating with operations, senior project engineers, and general contractor/owner representatives to ensure successful handover of projects for execution.
