Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process by providing accurate cost estimates for projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors. The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing detailed estimates, and negotiating contracts to ensure project profitability.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Build comprehensive estimates based on project specifications and historical data.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project scope and requirements.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for efficient estimating processes.
- Negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor construction site activities to ensure compliance with estimates and budgets.
- Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting estimates as necessary based on changes in scope or unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project management processes and contract negotiation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
