Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day activities of our branch dedicated to distributing lumber and building products. As the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff, coordinating operations, and ensuring the efficient handling of goods within our facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, picking, shipping, and inventory management.
- Ensure that all operational tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and per company policies and procedures.
- Train, mentor, and motivate warehouse personnel, providing guidance and support to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to plan and prioritize daily tasks, ensuring timely completion of orders and shipments.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse facilities and equipment, identifying any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Address any operational issues or concerns promptly, escalating to management as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management best practices.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and problem-solve in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as required.
- Able to get forklift certified.
