Position Summary:
The purpose of the Surface Specialist role is to intently focus on a narrow range of products within the Decorative Surfaces category to produce aggressive sales results. The Decorative Surfaces product range consist of items being used for Countertops, Sinks, HPL, TFL (design matching program), Thinscape, Wetwall and any Wilsonart decorative surface items of which have been defined by management as having significant growth opportunities. The Surface Specialist is tasked with achieving and/or exceeding company KPI (Key Performance Indicators) sales metrics. This person will spend the majority of the time in the field targeting/visiting fabrication shops (Countertop Fabricators), Kitchen & Bath cabinetry companies and home builders/remodelers (med-large scale) with efforts to educate, support and sell surface related products. The Surface Specialist will develop sales growth by working closely with our sales team to develop target customers, conduct field travel (with and without the sales person), developing customer relationships and establishing viable customer programs. This position requires the employee to have complete knowledge of the various surface product lines we offer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieve KPI metrics within the Surface product category:
- New buying customers
- Sales & margin growth targets
- Provide product category leadership
- Collaborate with Sales Teams, Regional Sales Managers and supplier partners
- Act as the Advisor to fellow teammates
- Develop and maintain a sales strategy for all target products and target accounts.
- Communicate critical information – Programs, Pricing, Product Launches and etc…
- “Resident expert” for all decorative surfacing products (HPL, Quartz, Solid Surface, Sinks and etc..).
- Develop and manage relationships with third party partners (suppliers & customers).
- Interact with customers, both internal and external, to maximize results. Conduct presentations (formal and informal) when needed.
- Networking to align Fabricators and Dealers/Specifiers to capture sales.
- Provide prompt and effective follow-up of assigned leads and new prospects.
- Maintain CRM – Includes call scheduling, sales call activity, sample/collateral placement. Communicating efficiently and effectively with all team members.
- Monitor and replenish on-site sample inventory at Wurth Wood Group locations.
- Ability to work with cross departments to drive growth oriented objectives.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor Degree, in a business-related area; or relevant leadership work experience
- 3-5 years of outside sales or product management experience
- Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM
- Must be willing to travel – Local and overnight
