The General Manager works closely with ownership to maintain the restaurant's standards of excellence across our culinary, beverage and service programs. The General Manager must possess strong leadership skills, be focused and able to prioritize abundant and varied responsibilities; they must exude genuine warmth and empathy both in dealing with our team and our guests, and a willingness to continuously educate and grow the team. While upholding these operation standards, the GM must also focus on steadily increasing covers and revenue for the business. Daily and weekly responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently work to foster and maintain a culture of confidence, generosity and empathy by ensuring a safe, clean and adequately equipped workplace, consistency in payroll and scheduling, and ongoing education and coaching.
- Lead all team members in offering genuine, informed, and intuitive hospitality experiences.
- Engage with all managers and service team members to improve guest experience through thoughtful service actions.
- Promptly produce weekly schedules that consider and protect both the restaurant's staffing and employees' personal needs.
- Process weekly payrolls, keeping an eye on and reporting any irregularities or major fluctuations to ownership.
- Lead Service Management team, delegating and overseeing administrative responsibilities including consistent supplies inventories & ordering, website maintenance, delivery app maintenance, etc.
- Review monthly P&Ls to ensure prime costs are consistent and sales are continuously increasing.
The following are requirements to be considered for the position:
- 2 years leadership experience in similar environment
- Proficient understanding of restaurant systems and operations
- Proficiency with various tools, including Resy, Toast (POS), Bentobox (website), Sling (scheduling), ADP (payroll) and various third party delivery apps
- Foundation in NY State and Federal HR standards and practices
- Strong business and financial instincts
- Fluency in English, with a basic understanding of Spanish preferred
- Annual salary ranging between $100k and $120k, based on experience, plus bonus potential
