This position is best for a writer with a flexible schedule to handle breaking news. Generally, this position is held by a student writer/intern. You must live in Morgantown or the surrounding area and relocating for this job would not make sense for most people.
Location: Morgantown, WV (required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Cover West Virginia University athletics with a focus on quick hitters, game summaries, and press conference articles
- Engage with our community by participating in forums and contributing to our podcast
- Collaborate with the WVSports.com team to develop content ideas and strategies
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience in sports writing and/or blogging
- Strong command of the English language with excellent writing skills
Desired Skills and Traits:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the ever-changing digital media landscape
