MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Complete Hand Hygiene Monitor program training within first week of employment.
- Six (6) months of work experience in healthcare, or a training or academic program in a health care field.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- One (1) year training or academic program in a health care field
- Current employee of the WVU Health System.
- One (1) year of direct patient health care experience.
- Performs direct observation of patient care and support staff to evaluate for completion of proper hand hygiene following established policies and procedures.
- Collects data on hand hygiene practices for inpatient units by direct observation of health care workers entering and exiting patient rooms.
- Submits data collected about hand hygiene observations using a secure web application for compilation and feedback to departments.
- Supports the efforts to improve patient safety and infection prevention by providing data needed to improve hand hygiene adherence.
- Responsible to create their schedule and complete required number of hand hygiene observations per week/month.
- Participates in scheduled team meetings.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
