Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver’s License
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Clean Driving Record
- Assists in proper traffic flow into and out of the assigned area.
- Assists patients out of their vehicles and helps place them into wheelchairs if necessary utilizing safe patient handling equipment per policy and procedure.
- Places numbered tag in automobile to be parked and hands customer similar tag to be used later in locating parked automobile.
- Records time and drives automobile to parking space, or directs customers to a parking space for customer’s use.
- Properly secures parked vehicles by locking doors, windows, and setting the parking brake.
- Properly logs the flow of Valet parked vehicles.
- Properly tags all patient car keys and files keys in the valet closet (type of car, license number, color of car, space number, valet initials, noticeable damage on vehicle).
- Takes numbered tag from customer, locates automobile, and delivers it to customer, or directs Customer to location of parked automobile.
- Locates and maintains adequate supply of wheelchairs for use at the front entrance of the designated sites..
- Observe and screen patients and visitors who request access to our facility for potential weapons and other hazards as requested.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in order to communicate with patients regarding the valet services.
- The employee may be required to lift, move, stoop, reach, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40 lbs in order to assist patients out of their vehicles and into wheelchairs.
- Continuous standing and walking from the valet closet to parking lot area is required in order to park and retrieve vehicles.
- The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient’s profile and appropriate algorithms.

- Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment.
- Employee may be exposed to all types of weather conditions.
- Must complete vision screening test for near and far vision. Must screen 20/40 or better or will be referred to the Eye Center.
- Ability to use common sense and highest level of customer service to carry out assignments.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or minimal variables.
- Ability to operate all types of automobiles and light trucks, both standard and automatic transmissions.
