Job Title:
Nursing Administrator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Nursing Administrator to oversee operations and direct hospital staff on off-shifts and holidays. This role represents the Hospital and Nursing Administration, facilitating the flow of patients into and through the hospital 24/7.
Main Responsibilities:
- Makes administrative decisions regarding complex situations affecting the hospital, such as public relations, patient care, medical-legal, financial issues, bed coordination, etc.
- Initiates appropriate actions in emergency situations, including power failure, disaster, fires, etc.
- Maintains regulatory compliance with CAH regulations and Patient Census.
- Coordinates transfers from outside facilities and Emergency Department using clinical expertise for patient placement.
- Assesses the units activity level during rounds and confers with the unit Charge Nurse regarding unusual patient care situations or other concerns voiced.
- Assigns Nursing Resource Pool and Per Diem staff to best meet house wide staffing needs.
- Collaborates with operational support departments (housekeeping, transport, etc.)
Requirements:
- Current license to practice Registered Professional Nursing in West Virginia.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Five years nursing experience preferably in a hospital setting.
