Streamline operations across all six television station properties while maintaining journalistic integrity, local market relevance, and efficient collaboration between corporate and local teams.

Level Structure And Responsibilities

News Operations Manager (Remote Oversight Role)

• Responsibilities:
• Set the overall tone for coverage across all properties, tailoring to each market's nuances and audience needs
• Establish and uphold journalistic standards across the group
• Identify and implement industry innovations in news gathering and presentation
• Act as the primary point of contact for News Content Managers, ensuring alignment on objectives and priorities
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-property collaboration
• Provide regular training and updates on industry trends and tools
• Daily Tasks:
• Host daily Zoom or telephone meetings with News Content Managers to review coverage plans, address issues, and align group strategies
• Monitor the output from all properties to ensure consistency and quality
• Approve major editorial decisions, special projects, and group-wide initiatives
  

Local-Level Structure And Responsibilities

News Content Managers (On-Site Role at Each Property)

• Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day newsroom operations, including content planning and assignments
• Ensure market-specific coverage aligns with corporate tone and standards
• Manage website and digital content, ensuring timely updates and audience engagement
• Supervise news assignments and ensure reporters are covering relevant, impactful stories
• Serve as the primary liaison between their station and the News Operations Manager
• Provide feedback on local market needs, challenges, and opportunities
• Daily Tasks:
• Coordinate with newsroom staff to plan the day’s content and assignments
• Manage digital content, ensuring breaking news and updates are timely
• Report coverage updates and challenges to the News Operations Manager during daily check-ins
• Collaborate with other News Content Managers on cross-market stories or shared resources
