Summary:
The Wyandotte Tribe of Oklahoma is seeking an experienced, forward thinking IT professional to establish and direct technology related functions for the organization. This individual will lead the IT team and is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions. This includes ensuring that all systems and people are meeting our goals of enabling access, supporting growth, and managing and controlling costs while maintaining privacy and security.
The IT Director must be knowledgeable in Information Technology systems and have a solid technical background with the ability to manage and motivate people.
Responsibilities for this strategic role include:
Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.
Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
Recommend efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.
Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating and enforcing standards and procedures for implementing technical solutions.
Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.
Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
Coordinate and supervise technicians and other IT professionals to provide guidance.
Control budget and report on expenditure.
Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field is required. Applicants without a Degree will not be considered.
Individuals must have significant experience as an IT Director, or similar role. They must have excellent leadership skills, and be an outstanding communicator.
