What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager position at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center?
* Strong written and verbal skills are demonstrated in reports, correspondence and presentations. Ensures staff are kept informed of Medical Center and department priorities.
* Communicates vision statement and strategic priorities and demonstrates commitment toward their achievement.
* Participates in conferences, workshops and other professional development activities to maintain licensure and/or remain professionally current advances in field of expertise.
* Ensures staff receive mandated in-serving in Safety, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Customer Service, Infection Control and any other in-service that may apply.
* Recommendations and decision making reflects strong analytical skills and focus on quality, cost containment, and impact of change on other departments.
* Incorporates the Medical Center's Customer Service goals in developing and/or revising departmental policies and systems. Continually reviews the service delivery process to exceed customer expectations.

* Plans, directs, organizes, controls and maintains Environmental Services department efforts in an orderly and cost-conscious manner.
* Prepares annual budget for department, monitors expenditures throughout the year to assure that department is operating cost effectively.
* Participates in hiring of personnel; recommends promotions, disciplinary action and terminations; carries out annual performance appraisal of employees supervised.
* Implements and maintains OSHA regulations and safety standards; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the Hospital in compliance with requirements of the Joint Commission and the Department of Health.
* Develops and organizes required training programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the work force and to develop and encourage new ideas and techniques.
* Conducts meetings with department personnel for training purposes and provides guidance to the assistants and supervisors.
* Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
* Adheres to the medical Center's policy on Conflict of Interest, which includes completion of a Conflict of Interest Certificate on an annual basis.
* Participates in hospital-wide committees as required, including the Safety and Infection Control committees.
* Broadens own knowledge of demands and changes of the industry through participation in education programs, current literature review, conferences and workshops.
* Performs other administrative duties as required.
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience License, Registration, or Cert. Required : This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 5 years job-related experience. Desired (not required) criteria include NEHA
Comments Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably as an Supervisor or Manager Environmental Services in a hospital or related institution.
