For more than three decades we’ve housed some of the most sought-after Denver banquet facilities. Besides our hip LoDo location next to Union Station, we offer several options in our vintage, late 1800’s warehouse building that can seat anywhere from 12 to 1200 lucky guests. Our ambiance, our food and our beer can help make the perfect reunion, rehearsal, work party, award event of any other celebratory occasion.
The Event Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the event department, which includes the banquet business at Wynkoop Brewing Co. You’ll ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints. An event manager is, above all, a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques. We want to see enthusiastic candidates with fresh ideas and the organizational skills required to not leave anything about an event to chance.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will also work closely with all members of management to include the Executive Chef, Head Brewer, Director of Operations, and Marketing Manager.
Compensation Package:
Base salary of $55,000 plus a generous COMMISSION paid every 4 weeks

Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of The Company’s event business, increasing the quality of events, meeting financial objectives and creating and instituting standardized event procedures.
- Create and continuously evaluate event division business plan to align with changing business conditions. Track activity and measure return on investment based on parties booked and sales generated.
- Maintain the calendar of all events and schedules throughout The Company in an effort to not cannibalize sister restaurants but to instead leverage and cross promote.
- Develop new events and find new business through direct lead resourcing from calls, historical group business, tradeshow attendance and proposal requests.
- Identify and call on past and perspective clients to solicit bookings as well as developing relevant partnerships and charitable offerings for the company.
- Oversee all SEO/SEM to make sure Event business is easily searchable online and easy to use and book.
- Oversee Event Coordinators who will conduct tours, host food tastings and network in order to sell to prospective clients.
- Determine and revise event layouts, packages, pricing and scheduling of banquet space.
- Work with management on banquet menu and pricing.
- Hire, evaluate and train the banquet team members in expected standards to exceed guest expectations and create loyalty through satisfaction.
- Coordinate appropriate staff and control labor costs through responsible scheduling.
Desired applicants will offer:
- 3 years experience in restaurant event specific sales
- Extensive knowledge of the market, hospitality experience preferred, restaurant industry a plus
- Excellent guest relations and a proven track record of organizing successful events
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS Office
- Highly organized with excellent time management
- Ability to accommodate a work schedule based on volume
- Self-motivated and creative
- Ability to work well under pressure while successfully problem solving
