Wynlakes Golf and Country Club is a private club built in 1986 with 8 clay courts, 3 hard courts and 4 Pickleball courts. We are searching for a dedicated tennis and pickleball professional to help build up all junior and adult tennis and pickleball clinics, leagues and special activities with the Director of Racquet Sports. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic person wanting to establish a long career at a Premiere club in Alabama. All tennis and pickleball duties will be expected such as tennis shop hours, stringing rackets, clay court maintenance, working with USTA tournaments, emails, texting, word processing, fill in to play with special activities, all with a positive and motivated attitude. JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL DUTIES : Organize and teach junior and adult tennis and pickleball clinics and private lessons. Run round robins for the members, junior play days, pickleball special events, inner club leagues, help coordinate social tennis and pickleball activities, string rackets, grip rackets, tennis shop hours, clay court maintenance. Call new members to conduct orientation into tennis or pickleball and programs available.
SPECIFIC TASKS : Help with Director of Racquet Sports to organize new and creative special events, teach private junior and adult tennis and pickleball lessons and clinics, help run five USTA sanctioned tournaments. Help manage staff, hiring, schedules.
Other duties as may be required : Tennis shop hours, stringing rackets. 40 hours a week position on and off the court. Help organize work areas, straighten, arrange furniture, tennis equipment, pick up trash, debris, etc. keeping the work area orderly and clean. Applicants must be able to administer and enforce club policies, help officiate club tournaments, play with members in social events, help coordinate clay court maintenance and brushing courts when needed, work weekdays, weekends and evening hours as needed. Attend staff meetings and tennis and / or pickleball workshops.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : Applicants must have three years experience teaching tennis full time, possess a 4.5 USTA rating or higher, USPTA or PTR certification and maintain a certification every year.
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS : Compensation includes 75 % percentage of lessons and clinics, in addition up to 40 hours a week on and off court which is approximately $25,000 / year, 401 K, medical, and employee lunch meals, Tuesday-Friday.
