JOB SUMMARY: The Surveillance Officer is responsible for operating and maintaining surveillance equipment, watching both live and recorded video surveillance footage and reporting incidents or suspicious activity.
SCOPE: Remains alert to any suspicious activity and communicates any discrepancies or incidents immediately to the Security Director/Site Manager and/or the Director of Operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diligent in the consistent and strategic surveillance of the gaming floor and observation of team members throughout the shift.
Ensures all equipment is operational and documents/reports any malfunctions immediately to the Security Director.
Ensures surveillance activities, as required, are properly documented.
Ensures all incident reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Properly secures all potential evidence from CCTV video recordings.
Consistently adheres to strict confidentiality in all matters related to property Surveillance.
As directed by Security and Management, makes statements, to police officials when involved in an incident with law enforcement. This statement may be used as evidence in a court of law.
Cooperates with WY Gaming Officials and the police as directed to support a positive working relationship in support of the Surveillance operation.
Effectively records all gaming transactions in accordance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance.
Follows all policies and procedures as they relate to addressing barred patrons.
In the absence of the Security Director, informs the Chief Operating Officer of all significant incidents. This includes bomb threats, scams and cheating, mass disturbances, loss of coverage of either of the counts or collections, etc.
Provides great customer service to team members and ensures their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset.
Develops and maintains professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with team members, guests, and vendors.
Ensures work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
Works safely, including clearly understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, completing work in a safe manner, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions.
Maintains regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings.
Maintains professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the workday.
Assists with training/mentoring of new Team Members as requested.
Maintains all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines.
Informs manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur.
Keeps a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress situations and a continuously fast-paced environment.
Is honest in all interactions and displays a high degree of integrity.
Works independently with little to no supervision or as part of a team is required.
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must have a thorough knowledge, or ability to learn, of security equipment operation.
Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
Experience working in casino security preferred.
