This Director of Rehabilitation/DOR position is a great opportunity for a PA licensed SLP/PT/OT/COTA/PTA to assist with overseeing, teaching, and mentoring a supportive team of therapists in an environment built on integrity and progressive, ethical care.
Job Summary: The DOR must demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and understanding of the role of rehabilitation for all therapy disciplines. They will review all relevant data and utilize clinical judgement to ensure appropriate delivery of therapy care to maximize outcomes and meet desired goals at discharge. The DOR will also participate in facility and company meetings, while adhering to established confidentiality standards and ensuring staff understand and are compliant with the Federal, State, and Local laws, rules and regulations related to therapy service delivery. Finally, they will provide a safe environment to utilize tools and equipment in a safe manner complying with all infection control, universal precautions, and standards for healthcare professionals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and organization of all departmental paperwork, including conducting documentation audits
- Plans accordingly and coordinates schedules to achieve maximum efficiency staff based on clinical needs and treatment activity of staff members
- Works proactively to build, manage, and schedule PRN pool, as needed
- Establish and promote clinical programs/enhancement as indicated
- Engages in recruiting interviews, employee development, goal setting, constructive feedback, corrective actions, performance appraisals
- Develop professional working relationships with staff, facility team members, residents, and resident family members
- Prompt preparation and delivery of any regular or ad hoc reports; as well as the ability to analyze, interpret, and achieve budget expectations on a consistent basis
Skills:
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- SNF/Long term care experience preferred
- Current knowledge of treatment practices
- Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
Required licensure:
- Current Therapy License in the State of PA. Must be in good standing.
