Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical PRN at Wythe County Community Hospital
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our medical and surgical unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will utilize your critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to deliver timely and high-quality care.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care through the nursing process, catering to patients of various age groups. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to ensure timely response and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
Requirements:
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA, or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX exam, or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse, and in good standing with the Board.
- One year of experience working on a medical/surgical care unit/telemetry unit, or orthopedic unit preferred.
