What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant II position at X-ES?
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is looking for an experienced Accountant with knowledge of GAAP and strong critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, demonstrate a willingness to learn new things, and exhibit strong attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and updating our financial close software.
- Perform general ledger account analysis and monthly reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing for our annual Review, benefit plan audits and insurance renewals.
- Responsible for vendor payments.
- Create and modify payroll reports as needed in our payroll processing software.
- Provide support to biweekly payroll processing.
- Analyze and record COGS.
- Administer credit card program.
- Special projects as requested by Controller.
- Support the development and performance management of the Finance Team
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Support day to day activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with strong knowledge of GAAP; equivalent years of related experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of three (3 ) years of accounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing setting.
- Computer proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High level of organization with clear attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with or understanding of payroll processing, fixed assets, and month-end close.
- Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a professional and positive fashion.
- Self-directed with a solid work ethic and drive to learn new skills.
