Accountant II

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is looking for an experienced Accountant with knowledge of GAAP and strong critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, demonstrate a willingness to learn new things, and exhibit strong attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and updating our financial close software.
• Perform general ledger account analysis and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing for our annual Review, benefit plan audits and insurance renewals.
• Responsible for vendor payments.
• Create and modify payroll reports as needed in our payroll processing software.
• Provide support to biweekly payroll processing.
• Analyze and record COGS.
• Administer credit card program.
• Special projects as requested by Controller.
• Support the development and performance management of the Finance Team
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Support day to day activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with strong knowledge of GAAP; equivalent years of related experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of three (3 ) years of accounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing setting.
• Computer proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High level of organization with clear attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with or understanding of payroll processing, fixed assets, and month-end close.
• Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a professional and positive fashion.
• Self-directed with a solid work ethic and drive to learn new skills.
