Assistant Controller

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking an experienced accounting professional to step into the Assistant Controller role, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate is experienced in the manufacturing industry, with extensive cost accounting and knowledge of corporate tax.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and publishing of financial statements, budgets, and other reports.
• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including payroll and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing for our annual Review, benefit plan audits and multi-state income tax returns filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Work with Operations to identify and correct inventory issues; suggest and implement procedures to eliminate or reduce discrepancies in the future.
• Administer Credit Card program.
• Assist Controller in standard monthly reports for internal use.
• Support day to day activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve overall operational efficiency.
• Support the development and performance management of the Finance Team.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7 ) years of progressive general and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting with proven supervisory experience and advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong manufacturing ERP/PC skills with ability to create and modify complex Excel spreadsheets.
• Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with clear attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Highly organized with the ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI.

Desired Qualifications

• Public Accounting experience.
• Knowledge of finance management including payroll processing, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion.
• Self-directed with a solid work ethic and drive to learn new skills.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Prior knowledge and experience with the management of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
