Management Responsibilities
- The Civil Superintendent is accountable to employees, clients, suppliers for enforcing a healthy culture, professional attitude, and safe working environment. The Civil Superintendent is properly trained and comes to work focused and understands that the most important duty of a good leader is to serve others.
- Performs all market Construction bid-walks using bid notes, drawings and project scopes for internal build as well as sub-contractor work, requesting all quotes.
- Has a clear understanding of the project/client contract and standards and safety.
- Oversees project schedule, monitor/update market trackers as project progresses and provide thorough reporting on job progress and status.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets ensuring subcontractors, material, equipment and labor stay on track. Including materials take off/validation.
- Is accountable for the coordination of construction, completion activities and close-out packages.
- Ensures all job completions are Trued-Up and all change orders are submitted in a timely manner.
- Works in close collaboration with Construction and Operations Manager regarding all new billing, Work in Progress adjustments, and forecasting of revenues for all assigned projects.
- Participates in daily meetings as necessary and required weekly market meeting with X3 staff.
- Is available for phone calls, emails, conference calls, and other corporate needs in support of company directives as needed.
- Performs Employee Reviews, develop Standard Operating Procedures, develop Method of Procedures, manage Personal Improvement Plans as necessary.
- Participates and/or performs interviews, hiring, firing, furloughs, and disciplinary action.
- Ensures all market civil crewmen are properly trained and certified as required.
- Communicates site rules regarding safety and perform Site Safety Audits. Prepare topics for safety meetings.
- Ensures engineering controls, administrative policies and PPE are in place to mitigate safety hazards.
- Investigates, documents and provides corrective action for any injuries, property damage or near miss incidents.
Field Knowledge
- Heavy equipment needed on sites.
- Understand construction related tools and operation.
- Trenching, shoring, prepping, plumbing pipe, drainage, back-fill, and compaction.
- Asphalt/concrete forming and pouring.
- CMU and retaining walls.
- Pettibone operation and material handling.
- Drilling, caisson and steel cage construction and tower stacking.
- Generator set, including fueling and testing.
- Power plant layout including earthquake bracing, battery installation and knowledge of AC/ DC systems and electrical wiring.
- H-frame and ice bridge layout and mounting.
- Ensure City, County and special inspections are scheduled and completed.
- Familiar with local LA territory jurisdictions and geography.
- Existing relationships with local subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty services.
- Framing, Blocking, FRP, Structural Reinforcements and steel.
- Able to identify and resolve project changes and issues.
Experience and Education
- OSHA 30 minimum
- Construction Degree preferred, but not required.
- Project estimating using plans, bid notes, and bid forms is preferred.
- 10 years in construction trade with 5 years as Foreman or Superintendent
- Telecommunications experience preferred.
- Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and Power point.

Hourly Range: $30.00 to $39.00
