Job Title: Lead Field Service/Control Systems Engineer (Power, Energy & Data Centers)
Location: Based in Phoenix, Arizona with some travel required.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Field Service/Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is responsible for managing and delivering automation solutions across Power, Energy, and Data Center environments. As a key leader in the team, you will provide technical expertise, guide the project team, and ensure successful project completion. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of hardware in critical energy systems and data center infrastructures, with some travel required for on-site support and installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the field service team, providing technical guidance, support, and ensuring the successful delivery of automation solutions in both energy and data center environments.
- Manage customer relationships, assisting with change order generation (hardware cost estimation, scope changes).
- Design and implement control systems, including instrumentation, electrical systems, PLC/DCS control algorithms, and HMI interfaces.
- Oversee the installation and startup of control systems, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Perform functional testing, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure proper system operation.
- Conduct training sessions for customer representatives to ensure they understand the system and its capabilities.
- Assist with system design and documentation for project proposals and ongoing customer support.
- Provide remote and on-site support as required for troubleshooting, commissioning, and ongoing system maintenance.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for project implementation, support, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in field service, control systems engineering, or automation with a focus on power and energy systems, data centers, or related industries.
- Strong experience with control systems platforms such as Rockwell FactoryTalk Suite, Aveva System Platform, Inductive Ignition Perspective, and similar systems.
- Familiarity with protocols and systems used in energy management and data centers, such as BACnet, LON controllers, Niagara N4, and SQL.
- Experience with scripting languages (VBA, Python) for system integration and automation.
- Strong understanding of control system hardware, software calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus and will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $80K - $130K annually, depending on experience.
Salary : $80,000 - $130,000
