Senior / Principal Software Engineer – Data Pipelines & Performance

About the role
In this role you will be working as a principal engineer on our Fabric development team. This team maintains ownership over databases, data pipelines, distributed systems, and systems development within Xage’s products. Principal engineers are expected to have significant independence and the ability to lend their expertise to help decide the future direction of our team’s areas of responsibility. Some examples could be selecting technologies and developing new pipelines or updating existing pipelines to solve problems related to traffic analysis, audit / event detection, improving scalability / performance, or security policy suggestions. Principal engineers are also expected to have developed skills around communication, leadership, empathy, and mentorship to help guide and develop other team members with less experience.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a team of engineers to develop and maintain existing internal data pipelines
- Drive the future architecture and development of a traffic analysis pipeline
- Drive the future architecture and development of an IoT event auditing pipeline
- Drive the future architecture and development of an IoT security policy suggestion pipeline
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders for requirements, architecture, and overall design
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and adopt best practices
- Take ownership of projects and initiatives and ensure high quality of deliverables
