Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the Controller as directed, including General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales and Cash, reconciling accounts and preparing reports for Xanterra Parks & Resorts in Glacier National Park and Cedar Creek Lodge.

Position Type: Year-round
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)
Housing: Employee housing is not available

Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller with day-to-day operations.
- Selects and trains accounting personnel that report directly to this position and complete performance appraisals in coordination with the Controller.
- Implement appropriate procedures to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of daily revenue reporting, weekly flash reporting, and monthly financial reporting to property and corporate management.
- Manage, supervise, and train accounting employees assigned to this position. Ensure all accounting operations/functions are being completed timely and accurately. Continuously analyze accounting operations for efficient and effective utilization of accounting staff.
- Complete duties and responsibilities of accounting employees as necessary.
- Complete and review assigned weekly and period end reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Implement and maintain appropriate procedures to ensure the accuracy of outlet tip and revenue reporting. Maintain daily tip records and report any issues to the appropriate Food & Beverage management, on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and develop spreadsheets in Excel to streamline audit procedures and track data more efficiently.
- Control and monitor the retention policy in regards to all company financial records. Ensure all documents are retained according to company policy.
- Maintain, update, and revise all accounting operations desk policy and procedure manuals as needed.
- Provide support for the operating and accounting units in Glacier National Park and Cedar Creek Lodge.
- Work closely with the Controller on any matters requiring his/her involvement.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with employees.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience, preferably in hospitality accounting management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle and strictly maintain confidential information.
