Xavier University’s Office of Physical Plant is seeking a Building Automation Systems Superintendent who will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of campus building management systems, primarily Siemens controls. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
- Lead and manage the operation of Siemens Building Automation Systems (BAS) across campus buildings to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
- Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, mechanical equipment, controls, refrigeration, and electrical devices.
- Collaborate with facilities teams, vendors, and contractors to implement system improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless integration of building systems.
- Monitor BAS data to evaluate energy consumption and develop initiatives to reduce energy costs and support sustainability goals.
- Serve as the primary on-call contact for system issues, emergencies, and off-hours adjustments, ensuring campus safety and operational continuity.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree; relevant certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in building automation, HVAC, or related technical fields.
- Siemens BAS certification or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Extensive knowledge of Siemens Desigo, Insight, and related platforms, as well as HVAC and energy management systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system optimization skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to work outdoors and in environments with noise, vibration, and physical hazards.
- Available on a 24/7 on-call basis for emergencies and off-standard situations.
