Manager of Performance Improvement Nuclear - Welch, MN

The Performance Improvement Manager provides the leadership and oversight at a nuclear station to ensure the programs and processes deployed to identify, evaluate, and resolve adverse conditions, problems and gaps to excellence are correctly executed and effectively managed. Processes include the Corrective Action Program, Self-Assessment Program, Benchmarking Program, Operating Experience Program, and Integrated Performance Monitoring Program. Position serves as a peer to the senior leadership team at the nuclear station and holds the organization accountable to meeting high standards of execution and high levels of effectiveness for these programs. Also leads a team who provides support and oversight for the processes identified above as well as Procedures, Document Control and Records, and Administrative Support.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide oversight over the Performance Improvement Programs at the station and reinforce high standards of performance through all levels of the organization.
• Provide management oversight and leadership for the Performance Improvement staff at the Station.
• Serves as a key contributing team leader, chairperson or member on the nuclear station's Corrective Action Program Screening Committee, Performance Improvement (Assessment) Review Board, and Nuclear Safety Culture Monitoring Panel.
• Interface with Site Senior Management to reinforce execution of Performance Improvement programs and the supporting leadership behaviors.
• Serves as the "Administrative Point of Contact" for the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) for the station.
• Direct, develop, and prioritize improvement items for Performance Improvement programs at the station and develop a schedule for implementation of these items.
• Function as a member of the Xcel Nuclear Performance Improvement Fleet Peer Group and Utility Service Alliance (USA) Performance Improvement Core Peer Team and represent the station in decisions concerning Performance Improvement issues.
• Perform Emergency Response Organization duties based on site-specific assigned role.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, specializing in Organizational Effectiveness, Engineering, or technical field. Combination of equivalent education and relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Minimum of 10 years experience (5 years of which must be in Nuclear) in plant operations, maintenance, chemistry, radiation protection, engineering, licensing, nuclear oversight or performance improvement with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Past Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license, Reactor Operator (RO) License or equivalent experience is preferred. Familiarization with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is required.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $125,900.00 to $178,766.00 per year
