Plant Attendant

We anticipate an opening for one or more Plant Attendants at the Allen S. King Generating Plant in Bayport, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position is $39.84 hourly. The rate of pay for this classification is listed in the Exhibit A Wage Schedule with applicable rates for evening and night shift work. Employees who are interested and possess the necessary qualifications and requirements may sign below.

The position will be posted for 10 working days from August 15, 2022 to August 26, 2020

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 
  After one (1) year of operating experience, a Minnesota State Second Class “A” license must be obtained and after three (3) years of operating experience, a Minnesota State First Class “A” license must be obtained as required by the State of Minnesota.
• Must have successfully completed the “Power Plant Fundamentals” course, sponsored by the Xcel Academy.
• Must have completed the approved Apprentice Training Course as agreed to between the company and the local union.
• Must have the ability to intelligently communicate constructively with plant personnel both verbally and in writing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  Will be required to actively participate in training and retraining programs established for this position.
• Will be required to function under written plant operating and maintenance procedures as appropriate, assist in preparation and documentation of records and required by management.
• Will be required to perform duties or work when necessary from scaffolding and catwalks in high and confined areas.
• Will be required to be thoroughly familiar with plant operating procedures and equipment including pollution control equipment and be capable to make sound decisions in any plant emergency situation.
• May be required to accept temporary assignments at other locations including nuclear plants as prescribed by plant management.
