SQL DBA - Remote - Fulltime

We are seeking a highly experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in safeguarding our critical business data and ensuring the smooth operation of our SQL Server environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, and maintenance.
- Implement robust backup and recovery strategies to guarantee data availability in case of disasters or outages.
- Enforce strict security best practices to protect databases from unauthorized access and malicious attacks. This includes user permission management, data encryption, and staying vigilant about security vulnerabilities.
- Continuously monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimal query execution and overall database health.
- Automate routine database tasks to improve efficiency and minimize human error.
- Partner with developers to understand their database requirements, provide guidance on schema design, and troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest SQL Server features and functionalities to optimize database performance and leverage new capabilities.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure the plan is well-documented and tested regularly.
- Collaborate effectively with IT colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless database integration within the broader infrastructure.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of database configurations, backup procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of demonstrably successful experience as a SQL Server DBA.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, security, backup & recovery, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for querying, manipulating, and managing data within SQL Server databases.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining high availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn Availability Groups) (Preferred).
- Experience with automation scripting using PowerShell or SQL Server Management Objects (SMO) (Preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to ensuring data integrity.
