Our client is a highly successful, privately held firm specializing in the manufacturing, installation, and servicing of electronic switchgear, DPS, automation, and control / monitoring systems for marine applications . As the company continues to scale, they are seeking a Sales Manager to drive business growth, develop new opportunities, and lead a team of three Account Managers to achieve revenue goals.

Position Overview

The Sales Manager will be responsible for outside sales, business development, and team leadership . This role requires an individual with deep industry knowledge, a passion for sales, and a strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in marine electronics and related industries.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, and contract negotiations to drive revenue growth.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of three Account Managers .
  • Set clear performance goals and provide ongoing coaching to optimize team success.
  • Foster a high-performance, results-driven sales culture .
  • Market & Strategic Selling

  • Utilize strategic selling methodologies to create value for clients and exceed expectations.
  • Understand the value chain within the marine industry and identify ways to provide additional customer value.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies .
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Sales Operations & Reporting

  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics , pipeline development, and revenue forecasts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in field sales within marine electronics, oilfield services, or related industries .
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with customer representatives and earn additional business through performance and trust .
  • Strong experience in strategic selling , understanding the value chain , and exceeding client expectations .
  • Passion for sales and customer engagement , with a track record of closing deals and growing accounts .
  • Self-directed, high-energy, business-savvy, and determined overachiever .
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills .
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
