Welding Lead

The Welding Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the welding department. This role ensures the team stays on tasks, fields questions that arise, and keeps production on schedule. This role is responsible for the thorough training of new employees and the coaching of existing employees. This person is a skilled welder and understands all fundamentals of welding and fabrication in a custom environment. 

Job Duties: 

· Champions safety procedures and adheres to them strictly.

o Reach out to safety rep in shop for questions.

o Goes to Safety Supervisor with issues.

· Able to weld to XeteX Standard without supervision.

· Acts as Subject Matter Expert for complex welding or design issues.

· Responsible for cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment.

· Reads and interprets blueprints without supervision.

· Adheres to all quality procedures. 

· Maintains 3G welding certification.

· Trains all welders to help them reach the next level in their career.

· Owns projects from start to end. 

· Ensures team stays on task and productive throughout shifts.

· Ensures schedule adherence.

· Coaches and evaluate team members frequently. 

· Maintains Confidentiality.

· Promotes XeteX Values.

· Actively participates in leadership meetings.

· Communicates all needs and questions clearly and concisely with leadership.

· All other duties assigned.

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent, certification or degree in welding preferred.

· Leadership experience is highly preferred.

· Previous experience in welding.

· Proficiency using hand and power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.

· Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. 

· Physical stamina and ability to perform job functions.

o Lifting 25 lbs – Frequently

o Lifting 50 lbs -Frequently

o Lifting 75 lbs – Occasionally, team lift as needed 

· Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.

· Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines at all times. 

Vertical mig weld test conducted during the interview process so please come prepared for test with proper clothing, and PPE. We prefer you bring your own helmet for the weld test.
