SUMMARY:
Our Finance Department is searching for a Manager, Accounting and FP&A to enhance our team. This hybrid role reports to the Director, Finance. and offers opportunity for growth. The Manager, Accounting and FP&A will be a critical member of the finance team, helping to scale the finance function as the company grows. You will collaborate with all levels of Company management to appropriately process day-to-day financial accounting transactions, month-end closing activities and the Company’s financial planning and analysis function. This hands-on position requires the ability to multitask and work effectively with others.
Job Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Accounting:
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet general ledger accounts, including, but not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable and accrued liabilities.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and provide supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate filing of quarterly financial statements.
- Manage the fixed asset register, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Assist with external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to accounts payable and expense-related transactions.
- Assist with work related to Clinical Trial Accruals.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX 404 and other regulatory requirements.
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Quarter end and year end Process
- Prepare, manage and update quarterly accrual files and participate in quarterly accrual meetings with R&D and G&A departments
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement flux analysis
- Prepare budget vs. actual analysis
- Support the preparation and maintenance of the Company’s investment plan
- Review of purchase orders prior to approval and administration of the Company’s purchase requisition system (Prendio)
- Quarter end and year end Process
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on general accounting procedures.
- 2 years of experience working in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with Clinical Trial Accrual required.
- Prior experience with month-end and year-end closing processes desirable.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite and Prendio is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
