Position Summary:
Xpansiv is seeking an intern to join our Commodities team. The ideal candidate is results-driven with a strong work ethic, an aptitude for managing external relationships, and an ability to work autonomously. The intern will support the Commodities team in driving new customer acquisition through prospect sourcing, conducting data-driven research, and assisting with strategic initiatives. In this role, you will also assist the team with producing regular reports and developing other collateral.
To be successful in this role, you’ll apply your educational learnings, interests, and passions in financial markets, sustainability, policy, and climate to help us drive success and market growth. While commodities, trading and exchange domain experience and nomenclature understanding is a plus, it is not a requirement for success.
\n- Generate new ‘top of funnel’ exchange leads, particularly in unexplored market segments.
- Assist Commodities team with client onboarding, follow-up, and liquidity generation.
- Perform market research and competitive analysis to drive business development.
- Prepare research and present your findings as needed.
- Parse industry news, publications, and developments to generate actionable insights.
- Stay up to date on market legislation and provide internal memos on policy changes.
- Work within the Salesforce CRM platform to maintain subscriber lists and forms, schedule campaigns, and pull reports/metrics to improve the customer experience.
- Current Undergraduate or Masters’ student pursuing a degree in Economics, Energy, Finance, Climate, or related field.
- Targeting a Spring or Winter 2026 graduation date.
- Strong interest in energy and environmental markets. Educational or professional experience is beneficial but not necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
- Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively synthesize competitive trends, market data, and customer insights.
- Organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
