Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to lead the design, development, and evaluation of innovative training solutions tailored to the needs of our boutique fitness franchise network. This role is critical to ensuring franchisees, studio managers, and frontline employees receive effective, engaging, and scalable training that drives operational excellence, brand consistency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in end-to-end instructional design, learning experience design, and creating engaging content that aligns with organizational goals. As the most senior role on the instructional design team, you will tackle complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior instructional designers. This role is based in the Xponential Fitness Headquarters located in Irvine, California.
Responsibilities:
- Instructional Design and Content Creation
- Lead the design and development of high-quality instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), video content, job aids, and reference materials.
- Apply advanced instructional design models, theories, and adult learning frameworks to develop engaging and actionable training for diverse audiences.
- Oversee and contribute to the development of storyboards, scripts, and detailed design documents for learning content.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams to identify learning objectives and create effective learning solutions.
- Oversee the design and implementation of certification programs and digital credentials for role-specific competencies.
- Provide expert consultation on best practices for training design and delivery across the organization.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Curriculum Managers, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to develop training aligned with key business metrics, such as Average Unit Volume (AUV), member acquisition, retention, and operational efficiency.
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and brand standards.
Learning Technology Optimization:
- Leverage learning technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), AI-driven content creation tools, and mobile platforms to deliver training in online and blended environments.
- Evaluate and integrate generative AI tools to streamline content creation, personalize learning experiences and enhance engagement.
- Identify opportunities for automation at each phase of the Instructional Design workflow.
- Explore and implement emerging learning technologies to ensure training solutions remain cutting-edge and effective.
Continuous Improvement:
- Build assessments, feedback mechanisms, and reporting tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Conduct needs analyses and make data driven decisions to enhance training programs.
Leadership:
- Mentor and provide guidance to a team of instructional designers.
- Stay current on trends in fitness and franchising as well as instructional design and learning technologies to drive innovation.
Project Management:
- Manage end-to-end project timelines and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and deadlines.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred: Certification in Instructional Design, eLearning development, or a related area.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience leading a team in instructional design, training development, or related roles.
- Experience leading complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Implementation of data driven systems for measuring learning outcomes.
- Preferred: Experience in franchise or multi-location business models or the health and wellness industry.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), adult learning theories, learning experience design (LXD), and emerging learning technologies.
- Proficiency in various e-learning authoring tools, video editing software, and LMS platforms.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools for content creation and personalization of learning experiences.
- Strong project management skills, including timeline management and deliverable tracking.
Knowledge:
- Expertise in designing scalable training solutions for diverse learner audiences.
- Understanding of metrics-driven training outcomes, including Average Unit Volume (AUV), retention, and operational efficiency.
- Preferred: Familiarity with franchise business models and branding standards.

Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
